Castle Bromwich expands for Jaguar’s new models

The July announcement linked recruitment to the XF, XJ and Sportbrake programme.

CASTLE BROMWICH / 1,100 JOBS

On 25 July 2012, JLR announced more than 1,100 new jobs at Castle Bromwich and launched recruitment for production operators. The expansion would support new Jaguar models.

The model programme behind the announcement

The plant was to manufacture the 2013-model-year XF and XJ ranges, with their new powertrains and transmissions, and add the XF Sportbrake. This was a manufacturing expansion associated with several products, rather than an announcement of another special edition.

What the recruitment figure means

The figure describes jobs being created, not a daily production rate or the number of vehicles completed. The release connects the recruitment programme with upcoming model production; it does not identify the specification or build date of an individual customer car.
