Different jobs need different methods

Writing software, transferring data, changing configuration and adapting a replacement module are separate operations. A procedure may use the vehicle’s diagnostic connection, a bench connection or another supported method. The selected route depends on the module family, hardware and software rather than the model name alone.

Access and body modules

RFA/KVM and BCM/CJB/CEM work can involve original data, initialisation and configuration. A new module and a used donor need separate assessment. Before buying parts, provide photographs of the original and proposed replacement labels together with the vehicle details and symptoms.

Engine and transmission modules

Supported ECU/PCM and TCM work may include data backup, writing suitable software, transferring data to a compatible donor or adaptation on the vehicle. This is electronic module work; it is not mechanical repair of the engine or transmission. Some units need a later vehicle procedure after bench work.

After interrupted programming

If a module stopped responding during an update or another programming attempt, preserve all original files and describe exactly what happened. Recovery depends on the module’s condition and the available communication and writing methods. We assess the options without guaranteeing that every unresponsive unit can be recovered.

Scope and price

We agree the intended operation and the checks that can be performed. Complex diagnosis and programming may be charged by time; the charging basis, estimate, additional parts and travel are confirmed before work. Bench communication alone does not prove complete vehicle operation.
