JLR no-start diagnostics
No ignition, “Smart Key Not Found”, or a vehicle that will not start after a module change: we investigate electronic and authorisation-related causes before choosing a repair route.
Describe what the vehicle actually does
Does the ignition stay off? Does the starter turn? Is the fault permanent or intermittent? Does either key work? These details help separate different problems. Tell us about warning messages, recent battery discharge, water ingress, replacement modules and previous programming attempts.
Diagnosis before replacement
The investigation may include battery and power-supply checks, communication with control modules, fault codes, relevant live values and the relationship between the key system and other modules. A stored fault code is a clue, not proof that its named module must be replaced. The scope is agreed for the actual symptom.
After a module has been changed
A donor ECU, body module or access module may not work simply because its connector fits. Compatibility, original data, software and configuration can all matter. Keep the original module and any backup files. Labels and part numbers from both units help us assess the next step.
What this service covers
Our focus is vehicle electronics, key recognition, immobiliser authorisation, programming and module data. If diagnosis points to a mechanical fault or work outside that scope, we explain the finding rather than promising that software alone will solve it.
Mobile diagnosis
The vehicle needs safe access and suitable working conditions. Some programming procedures require a stable external power supply and additional time. We discuss the diagnostic scope, travel and charging basis before attending. We do not promise a universal fixed-time solution to every no-start.
