Smart Key & Keyless Diagnostics
Key recognition, remote locking and passive access are related functions, but they are not the same fault. Tell us what works, what does not, and whether both keys behave the same way.
What is the vehicle doing?
A key may unlock the doors but fail to start the vehicle, work only from the emergency position, or operate intermittently. Describe the exact message on the display and the circumstances. Include the model, year and whether another key behaves differently. These details help define the assessment; they do not prove that a particular module is faulty.
The checks we agree
The enquiry may lead to checking the key, vehicle power supply, access-system communication or other relevant parts of the installation. We discuss the scope before the appointment. An electronic key concern and a mechanical lock concern may require different work.
Before replacing a key or module
Avoid ordering a replacement only because its case looks right or a fault description mentions a key. We check the particular system and the intended result. Remote locking, starting and passive entry must be considered separately, so the agreed job is clear.
What to send
Send the model and year, the number of available keys, photos of the key and any dashboard message, and a short description of when the fault occurs. If another workshop has inspected it, include the report and the work already carried out.
How the job is arranged
We review the information, agree whether the vehicle and all available keys are needed, confirm the proposed assessment and arrange the next step. Prices and travel are discussed before attendance. Proof of ownership or authority is required for security-related work.
